Pay and Working Hours
Your hourly pay will start from £14.18, increasing to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; we also have 12‑hour options if you prefer.
We schedule your contracted hours within the availability windows you provide, giving you three‑week notice of shift timing. We support flexibility and welcome applications if the times you can work closely match advertised windows.

About the Role
As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver all the way from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. You will meet customers in their homes every day, providing great service with a smile. No two shifts are the same, and you’ll feel “your own boss” while a team of managers and colleagues supports you at base.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver your part of the customer shopping trip, ensuring vehicles and trays are clean and organized.
- Maintain a tidy back yard, picking up litter if seen.
- Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van, checking for roadworthiness.
- Communicate with customers about order changes, short‑code items and substitutions, offering refunds where appropriate.
- Treat products/deliveries as if they were your own.
- Inform customers that substitutions will not incur extra cost.
- Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
- Call customers prior to arrival if early.
- Call the store or centre if running 30 minutes or more late.
Requirements
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support the store’s success.
- Be warm and welcoming, taking time to thank customers.
- Respond quickly to changing needs and embrace change.
- Bring energy and drive to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work.
- Share improvement ideas with your manager and fellow staff.
- Hold a UK/EU/EEA full or automatic driver’s licence for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Adhere to GB Domestic Driving Rules.
