Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop analytical solutions to business problems that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- Write high‑quality code to retrieve and analyze data.
- Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
- Design pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area.
- Understand data resources and when and how to use them.
- Develop analyses (whether fully formed or exploratory) for the business’ sake, not for analysis’ sake.
- Seek to understand the business objectives relevant to your area, align your work to those objectives, and deliver business value.
- Proactively and continually improve your knowledge of Amazon’s business and relevant data resources.
Qualifications
- Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi‑TB) data sets.
- Experience with the theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results.
- Experience with AWS technologies.
- Experience scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
- Experience in the data/BI space.
- Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
