Senior Python Software Engineer (Cloud/Platform)
Contract: Inside IR35
Location: Hybrid – Leeds (approximately 1 day per month on-site)
Duration: Until August 2027 (initial contract)
Rate: Up to £400 per day
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required (transferable)

you’ll be responsible for developing secure, cloud-native Python applications while helping improve platform capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and developer experience across a large-scale AWS environment.

Essential Skills

Strong commercial Python development experience
AWS cloud development experience
Terraform (or other Infrastructure as Code tools)
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
Observability and monitoring tooling
Experience supporting production systems and incident investigation

Desirable

Platform Engineering or DevOps experience
Shift-left security practices
Building reusable IaC modules and CI/CD components
Experience promoting engineering best practices across teams

Requirements

Active transferable SC Security Clearance
Willingness to join an on-call rota once fully onboarded
