Are you an experienced FLT driver? Recent experience of using a double handler is mandatory. Our client manufactures, distributes, sells and markets some of the world’s strongest brands in non‑alcoholic beverages. It is a leading Western European marketer, distributor, and producer of bottles and cans of non‑alcoholic refreshment.
Job title: Forklift driver
Job type: Temporary – Ongoing
Location: Wakefield, WF2 0XR
Pay rate: £14.92 per hour, going up to £16.58 per hour after 12 weeks
Shift pattern: 3 on 3 off
Shift timings: 07:00 – 19:00 or 19:00 – 07:00 (must be flexible adhering to business requirements)
Start date: Immediate
Full training: Provided
Key Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, and move them to and from storage areas.
- Use double pallet/load handlers (previous experience required).
- Locate and move pallets of stock, and load trucks ready for client delivery.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Report any damages to stock or the vehicle.
- Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.
- Work safely and on time to achieve productivity targets.
- Move finished goods around the warehouse using SAP.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Store pallets in the ASRS Warehouse.
- Unload vehicles delivering goods into the ASRS warehouse.
- Perform manual handling to rebuild damaged pallets, as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience as an FLT counterbalance driver and an in‑date license.
- Recent experience using a double handler (preferably loading/unloading).
- Adhere to Site SOP.
- Physically demanding role – able to be on feet for longer periods.
- Value and demonstrate responsible attitude to Health & Safety standards.
- Manage own time to achieve daily targets.
- Team player capable of working on own initiative.
- Flexible approach to work and shift patterns.
