Responsibilities

• Safeguard the prison environment and ensure the safety of prisoners, staff and visitors.
• Work various shifts and weekends as required.
• Serve as a peacekeeper, counsellor or teacher within the prison setting.
• Build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders.
• Support colleagues and act as part of one team to maintain safety throughout the prison.

Qualifications

• Integrity, skills, and strength of character.
• Experience or education from a variety of backgrounds, including retail, armed forces, teaching, or family life.
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, and self‑confidence.
