PTS Electricians

We are currently seeking experienced PTS Electricians with specialist knowledge of trackside power systems for 4-6 months working at Huddersfield train station.

The role involves the installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing, and repair of trackside electrical infrastructure — including signalling power supplies, functional supply points (FSPs), battery systems, cabling, terminations, and associated equipment. 

Key responsibilities

• Safe execution of electrical works on or near the line in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols
• Fault diagnosis, remedial repairs, and planned maintenance
• Inspection, testing (including Megger/cable testing), and commissioning activities
• Crimping, terminating, and installing SWA/containment where required
• Compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements  

Essential requirements

• Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification
• JIB Gold Card (or equivalent) and up-to-date 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• 2391 (or similar) Inspection & Testing certification highly desirable
• Strong rail electrical background with trackside experience
