PRODUCTION TEAM LEADER – £35,700 BASED WATTON/THETFORD – PERMANENT FULL TIME – MONDAY TO FRIDAY 7.30AM TO 5PM.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be required to perform the following key job functions:
Role Purpose
The Production Team Leader is a vital role within our operations. You will beexpected to work directly on the production lines while simultaneously overseeing a small, fast-paced team. Your goal is to assist in ensuring that production targets are met, quality is uncompromised, and the unit operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Floor Leadership & OperationsActive Production: Work “hands-on” on the production lines to maintain output.Team Supervision: Oversee a small team, ensuring staff are working efficiently andmeeting hourly/daily targets.Technical Proficiency: Operate all production machinery (following training) andassist with basic maintenance to minimize downtime.Labelling : Manage overprinting tasks using specialized printers and NiceLabel /NiceLabel Design software.Staff Development: Assist with the training and on boarding of new teammembers, ensuring they are quickly up to speed on safety, quality, and operationalstandards.
Quality Control & DispatchQuality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure every product meets companystandards before leaving the unit.
Product checks: Perform final stock checks to ensure the physical count matchesrecorded amounts.Health & Safety: Ensure all team members adhere to Health and Safety proceduresand company protocols at all times.
Administrative & Planning SupportProduction Planning: In the Production Manager's absence, take the lead onplanning production runs and scheduling work.Systems Management: Use Excel and internal computer systems to book productsand maintain accurate digital records.Inventory Control: Assist with regular stock takes of raw materials to ensure stocklevels are correct.
Required Skills & Experience
Management Style: Comfortable managing a small team in a high-pressure, fast-pacedenvironment.Technical Ability: Mechanically minded; able to troubleshoot machinery and usespecialized software.IT Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems for dataentry and planning.Physicality: This is a hands-on role; you must be comfortable being on your feet andworking the lines alongside the production team.Attention to Detail: Precision is required for stock counting, quality control, and labeldesign.
