Integration Architect

Salary: £85,000 – 120,000 per year

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in technology
• 5+ years of experience in integration architecture
• Proven delivery experience in large-scale financial or fintech systems
• Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architecture
• Hands‑on experience with NATS, or Kafka/Pulsar accepted
• Strong integration expertise with a cloud‑native mindset
• Experience leading multi‑team integrations
• Strong stakeholder management capability
• Hands‑on experience in backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST, and gRPC
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as EKS, ECS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, and Terraform
• Familiarity with OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, API versioning, and governance
• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript
• Banking domain experience, ideally in real‑time ledger, payments, FX, risk/limit management, or client onboarding
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools

Responsibilities

• Define and own the target‑state integration architecture aligned with enterprise standards
• Lead end‑to‑end integration delivery across multiple systems and teams
• Design event‑driven, API‑first, cloud‑native solutions using NATS, REST, and async messaging
• Create architecture artefacts including blueprints, APIs, and ADRs
• Act as the integration authority across platforms and stakeholders
• Mentor teams on integration patterns, API governance, and best practices
• Drive the use of AI tools to improve development efficiency
• Support real‑time ledger, payments, and FX systems integration within a large banking platform
