Principal Lead Engineer -Cloud, Data & AI (Lead II – Product Architect)

Overview

In this role, you will serve as the primary technical anchor for a large-scale wealth management replatforming program. You’ll bridge business needs with enterprise architecture and engineering pods to design an AI-first platform. You will steer target-state architectures across data, integration, and customer platforms, and establish engineering standards and governance. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping technology decisions and delivery across UK-stakeholders and nearshore/offshore teams, enabling impactful client outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, solution design, and governance for the replatforming program
• Define target-state architecture spanning data, integration, AI, and customer platforms
• Establish engineering standards, delivery practices, and architectural guardrails
• Ensure alignment between business outcomes, technology strategy, and delivery
• Act as primary technical contact for stakeholders; facilitate workshops and reviews
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Oversee platforms including Temenos, Backbase, Salesforce, Snowflake, AWS; drive API strategies
• Champion AI-first delivery; promote GenAI and automation across the SDLC
• Lead distributed delivery pods; mentor nearshore and offshore engineers
• Support estimation, roadmaps, and delivery governance; ensure milestone achievement

Key requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering, architecture, or technology consulting
• Strong enterprise solution architecture background and experience with large digital transformations
• Deep expertise in data engineering, integration architecture, cloud-native solutions, and enterprise platforms
• Experience with Snowflake, Python-based integrations, API-led and event-driven architectures
• AWS cloud services and modern cloud-native patterns
• Salesforce ecosystem and enterprise integrations
• AI/ML, Generative AI, and agent-based architecture concepts
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to influence senior leaders
