Circuito do Sol is Europe’s newest motorsport venue – and the first to be specifically developed as Europe’s first true Motorsport Resort Community – giving motorsport driver-enthusiasts and professionals a year-round, full-service venue for testing, track-days, and racing in the beautiful Alentejo region of Southern Portugal.
Circuito do Sol also gives automotive, motorcycle, and motorsports brands a new secluded, high-caliber venue for testing/development programs and media/dealer/customer events in a private, club-like environment that enables both rigorous product refinement as well as impressive and memorable brand-building activities.
Motorsport Membership Club facilities have been a fast growing sector in North America over the last 20 years and their success has seen the concept spreading to other regions of the world. Circuito do Sol brings this concept to a year-round location in Southern Europe, giving performance drivers a year-round “home base” for tracking, testing, and racing their performance and race cars. Club Circuito do Sol Members enjoy privileged access to our multi-discipline motorsport facility, including a new 3.5km, 23 corner road race circuit, a stage rally test track, motorcross area, on-site car storage, and Clubhouse facilities. The Circuito do Sol Villa Community will be a unique opportunity for Members to own a private home within a motorsport facility.
To complete the development of our Facility and lead the transition of the Company to operation, we are searching for a proven business leader to lead the Company as General Manager, reporting directly to the Board of Directors, which represents the private ownership group that has created Circuito do Sol. We are searching for a special person with the following traits and experience, to lead all aspects of the business, as defined below:
- A mature and proven business leader with General Management experience including full P&L responsibility, ideally in mid-size private companies
- A strong focus on delivery against a pre-agreed Business Plan, exhibiting self-starter, hands-on leadership of a multi-functional team, and an intrinsic Project Management mind-set
- A leader who will create and shape an organization for high performance, vs just administering it
- Excellent grasp of financial data and an intuitive sense to “follow the money” to achieve and exceed the financial goals of the Company, including tight accounting control of all activities
- Strong inter-personal skills that project capability and instill confidence across stakeholders ranging from High Net Worth Members and customers to maintenance employees to a wide range of suppliers
- Strong sense for marketing and merchandizing, to continually create new revenue opportunities across the operations
- Portuguese work experience and language skills a strong advantage, but exceptional candidates without these will be considered. Fluency in written and spoken English a requirement
