Commercial Fronting Manager

Overview

In this role you act as the central coordinator for fronting activities within the UW function, shaping governance, data flows, and commercial terms with partners. You collaborate across groups such as Group UW, Finance, and Insurer Network Management to implement best-practice processes. You own end-to-end fronting data analysis, reporting, and risk controls, driving cross-functional improvements. You will influence terms with fronting partners and ensure timely, structured communication of agreements. This is a hands-on position at a global insurer where data governance and process excellence unlock competitive terms and robust governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a Fronting Governance Model across the business in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to align on fronting-related matters and best-practice processes
• Identify and drive cross-functional process improvements across fronting activities
• Identify key commercial risks, establish controls, and monitor risks and controls
• Ensure compliance with Group governance requirements for fronted and captive reinsurance contracts
• Own end-to-end fronting data understanding, workflows, and data quality across systems
• Define and manage reporting requirements to/from fronting partners, including data quality and transfers
• Provide input into annual renegotiation of commercial terms with existing/new fronting partners and captive contracts
• Establish robust processes to communicate agreed terms to relevant departments in a timely manner

Key requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in insurance fronting, captive or reinsurance contracts within a large global financial services organization
• Strong analytical capability to understand, structure, and reconcile data sets
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel for data analysis; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Solid understanding of data flows and meticulous data quality issue resolution
• Experience with data reconciliation and reporting frameworks; SQL is a plus
• Process improvement mindset and proactive solution orientation
• Stakeholder management and ability to influence across functions
• Organised and structured with ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
• AI readiness in an environment with AI, ML, data analytics, and cloud-based tools
