Senior Legal Engineer

Overview

In this role you will drive the firm’s adoption of generative AI, focusing on Percy and Microsoft Copilot. You will act as the AI expert across client projects and cross-functional teams, translating legal needs into technical solutions. You’ll train teams and clients, shape agentic products, and help embed AI responsibly within legal workflows. A strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, agile delivery, and staying ahead of market AI developments will define your impact in this role.

Responsibilities

• Embed generative AI in the firm, promoting Percy and Microsoft Copilot adoption
• Provide complex prompt engineering support to lawyers on client matters
• Serve as AI expert on client projects, collaborating with data scientists and data engineers
• Deliver internal Percy and Copilot training and bespoke client AI training
• Bridge legal requirements and technical teams to align the platform with legal work
• Contribute to designing and developing agentic programmes and products
• Build relationships with stakeholders including AI Champions and upskill them
• Raise visibility of the firm’s AI capabilities through events, hackathons, and thought leadership
• Participate in agile, multi-disciplinary client projects and plan delivery
• Stay up-to-date with the legal AI market and major technologies

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the legal sector, with a focus on AI and technology
• Deep understanding of AI-driven legal tools and their applications
• Strong knowledge of how lawyers work and daily activities
• Experience embedding technology in a law firm and assessing related risks
• Excellent skills in creating polished, visually compelling decks and narratives
• Experience with legal processes, data, design or technology
• Excellent listening and information summarisation abilities
• Strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, multitasker who understands client needs
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
