Tax Manager (Research & Development Tax Relief)

We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented R&D Tax Manager to lead a portfolio of clients and ensure smooth, compliant processing of claims from start to finish. This is a significant role working with a team of technical specialists on niche projects with medium to large sized commercial businesses based across the UK.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage Client Portfolio – From inception to review
• Streamline Workflows – Ensure timely completion of jobs
• Lead & Mentor – Guide your team through the R&D process
• Client Engagement – Deliver educational seminars (in-person & Teams)
• Improve Processes – Help clients enhance record-keeping
• Compliance & Quality – Interview clients, meet R&D criteria, review reports
• Handle HMRC Enquiries – Resolve queries with confidence
• Train Junior Staff – Share knowledge and best practices
• Business Development – Drive growth and client success

Skills & Expertise:

• Demonstrable experience in R&D tax relief
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Strong client-facing experience
• Up-to-date knowledge of legislation & case law
• Proven ability to manage teams and deadlines
