Overview

In this Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Lawyer role in EY’s UK Legal team, you will provide pragmatic, business‑focused legal advice on a broad range of commercial matters. You’ll draft and negotiate key contracts and oversee firm-wide projects that support EY’s growth and transformation. Based in London, you will collaborate with internal clients across service lines and external partners, shaping commercial solutions in a fast-paced environment. Your work will enable the business while protecting EY’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Advise on, draft and negotiate contracts including Master Services Agreements, Global Framework Agreements, large complex commercial contracts (AI-related), managed services and outsourcing, subcontracts, collaboration agreements, software/licensing (traditional and SaaS), and government/public sector agreements
• Advise on the use of technology and GenAI in services and technology-related agreements
• Assist with tenders and RFP responses; negotiate with suppliers
• Provide legal guidance to service lines and internal support functions (real estate, procurement, finance, IT, HR, marketing) and lead firm-wide projects as needed
• Support business transformation initiatives and EY All in Strategy with prompt, pragmatic, and commercial legal advice
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and build credibility across the firm

Key requirements

• 8+ years of post-qualification experience
• Significant in-house experience
• Ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment with credibility and trust at all levels
• Self-starter capable of juggling deadlines and building relationships
• Ideally experience advising on GenAI in service provision and using GenAI for legal services
