Senior HPE Aruba Network Engineer — NOC / 3rd Line, £50,000–£70,000, Newbury or Northampton

Our client is a well-established technology services business with a large HPE Aruba customer base. They’re looking for a Senior HPE Aruba Network Engineer to join their NOC team — providing 3rd line support across wireless, switching, and ClearPass environments for a broad portfolio of enterprise customers.

ClearPass is the hardest skill to find and the most important. Around 80% of the customer base has ClearPass integrated. If you’ve got the full Aruba trifecta — wireless, switching, and ClearPass hands-on — this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Provide 3rd line NOC support across HPE Aruba wireless, switching, and ClearPass environments
• Own complex escalations — hands-on configuration and troubleshooting, not just monitoring
• Manage and support ClearPass deployments across a large, varied enterprise customer base
• Work across Aruba switching and wireless infrastructure — configuration, fault resolution, and optimisation
• Contribute to a low-volume on-call rota — 1 in 5 weeks, with very few actual call-outs
• Develop skills across Fortinet, Cisco, and Cradlepoint over time — structured growth path in place
• No customer site visits — this is a NOC-based role

• Juniper Firewall (beneficial)

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Hands-on HPE Aruba experience across wireless, switching, and ClearPass — all three together is the goal
• ClearPass expertise is the standout requirement — NAC, 802.1X, and policy management in production
• Hands-on configuration background essential — monitoring-only profiles are not suitable for this role
• Partner-side or managed service background preferred — strong field/deployment engineers also considered
• Aruba certifications (ACCP, ACMP) preferred but not required
• Fortinet or Juniper firewall experience is a nice-to-have
• Commutable to Newbury or Northampton — full-time onsite for first 3 months, then 3 days/week flexible

THE PACKAGE

• £50,000–£70,000 base salary depending on experience
• On-call allowance paid on top of salary — 1 in 5 rota, very low actual call volume
• Full-time onsite for first 3 months — then drops to 3 days/week with flexibility
• Newbury or Northampton office locations
• Structured development path — Cisco, Fortinet, and Cradlepoint training in-house over time
