Associate / Solicitor – Construction – Bournemouth

Overview

In this role you work within the Construction team of a well-regarded regional law firm in Bournemouth, focusing on contentious disputes while supporting non-contentious matters. You will handle disputes, adjudication, mediation and court proceedings, advising clients on contractual risk and structures. You’ll manage your own caseload with close supervision, delivering strong client service as part of a collaborative team. This is a training-focused opportunity with excellent support to develop a construction specialism.

Responsibilities

• Advise on construction disputes, adjudication, mediation and court proceedings
• Provide strategic advice as disputes arise
• Support non-contentious construction matters when needed
• Collaborate with contractors, developers, landowners and consultants
• Assist clients with contractual structures and risk management
• Manage own caseload with supervision from Head of Team
• Deliver excellent client service within a collaborative team environment

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor (NQ-4 PQE or above)
• Litigation experience from training or post-qualification
• Genuine interest in developing a construction specialism
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, motivated approach
• Commitment to excellent client service
• Enjoys working as part of a close-knit, supportive team
• Previous construction experience is not essential; enthusiasm and litigation exposure matter most
