Managing Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor with a regional main contractor, you will lead commercial activities across multiple projects in Oxfordshire, focusing on tenders, PCSAs, and on-site commercial management. You will steer a small team within a cross-sector portfolio including education, life sciences, heritage and leisure, contributing to a growing pipeline and ongoing training. You’ll shape commercial strategy, negotiate outcomes, and drive project profitability. This is a growth-focused, link-between-field delivery and commercial leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tenders and PCSAs
• Oversee on-site commercial activities across multiple projects
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams within Education, life sciences, heritage and leisure sectors
• Develop and monitor budgets, variances and commercial risk
• Manage a team and guide career development
• Ensure adherence to JCT Traditional contracts where applicable
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors
• Support business development with commercial insights
