Site Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead day-to-day delivery of structural steel installation projects, ensuring safety, quality and on-time performance. You will coordinate site operatives, subcontractors and clients to keep work progressing against the programme. This position focuses on practical site leadership, risk management and delivering high standards on site. It’s a hands-on opportunity to shape steel erection projects within a safety-conscious team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate structural steelwork installation activities on site
• Direct site operatives, subcontractors and other trades for efficient delivery
• Track progress against programme and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
• Maintain clear communication with project teams for smooth delivery
• Promote and enforce health and safety on site and address risks
• Oversee subcontractor activities and liaise with clients and stakeholders
• Resolve day-to-day site issues to keep activities aligned with plans

Key requirements

• Experience in structural steelwork erection
• Experience managing or supervising site operations
• Strong understanding of construction site health and safety requirements
• SMSTS or equivalent site management safety qualification
• CSCS card
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors and meet project deadlines
