Syndicate Accountant

Overview

As a Syndicate Accountant, you will drive accurate syndicate and regulatory reporting for a global Lloyd’s syndicate. You’ll work across underwriting, claims and finance to strengthen processes and controls. You’ll lead the GL close for syndicate entities under US GAAP and UK GAAP, and support interface and system improvements. This role sits in a collaborative, growth‑focused culture with auditors and external oversight, offering meaningful impact on reporting excellence.

Responsibilities

• Close the general ledger for Syndicate and related entities under US GAAP and UK GAAP
• Maintain controls and reconciliations across technical accounts and balance sheet items
• Support interface implementation and contribute to system improvements
• Partner with Finance teams on analysis, planning, and regulatory reporting
• Liaise with auditors and support audit processes

Key requirements

• Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or working towards
• Deep Lloyd’s market knowledge with Lloyd’s/FCA/PRA reporting experience
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated team player who can work independently and mentor junior staff
