Solicitor / Senior Solicitor – Large Loss & Motor (2-5 PQE)

Overview

In this role you support high-value, complex litigation within a Scottish law firm, focusing on motor claims alongside a highly experienced team. You will manage your own caseload and have chances to appear in court, contributing to business development efforts. The position offers exposure to large loss and catastrophic injury defence, with Partner support and a collaborative culture. The role includes hybrid working in Glasgow and opportunities to grow advocacy skills and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with investigation and defence of large loss and catastrophic injury cases
• Run a reduced litigated motor caseload
• Conduct forensic review of liability, causation and quantum
• Draft advice, pleadings and client correspondence
• Liaise with clients, witnesses, counsel and medical experts
• Attend court appearances and provide advocacy support
• Contribute to business development, including articles, blogs and events

Key requirements

• 2-5 years PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
• Solid litigation experience, ideally with exposure to personal injury or motor work
• Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
• Team player with the confidence to work independently
• Time recording experience is advantageous
