Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will manage cost control and commercial risk for a high-profile London residential developer. You will prepare tender documents, analyse costs, and guide procurement to support major schemes. You’ll collaborate with architects, clients, and subcontractors to ensure financial viability and timely delivery. This role offers progression on a prestigious multi-year project and a clear impact on project profitability and value. You will contribute to feasibility studies and post-contract financial management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with architect and client
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance projects
- Assist in establishing client requirements and feasibility studies
- Perform risk, value management and cost control
- Advise on procurement strategy
- Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
- Allocate work to subcontractors
- Provide advice on contractual claims
- Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
- Value completed work and arrange payments
- Maintain awareness of different building contracts in current use
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
- Offer post-occupancy, facilities management and life-cycle costing advice (when applicable)
