Project Engineer

Overview

In this Senior Site Engineer role, you drive site safety, quality, and engineering delivery for Murphy’s energy projects. You’ll work closely with clients, designers, and the team to ensure accurate drawings, robust risk assessments, and compliant working methods. You’ll oversee materials, temporary works, and ITPs, while maintaining clear records and a productive site diary. This role supports multi-country transmission and distribution projects with a strong focus on safety, quality, and practical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote health, safety and environmental best practice with SHQE
• Assist with temporary works design schemes
• Maintain relationships with client/designer/team and supply chain
• Advise on setting out methods and techniques
• Ensure drawings and specifications contain sufficient information for construction
• Request missing information in time to maintain programme
• Communicate with foremen and supervisors for clarity
• Oversee selection and requisition of materials and plant
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements for works
• Maintain a full daily site diary with changes, attendance, and discussions
• Ensure inspection and test plans are completed as per PMP/Specification and check dimensions/quality

Key requirements

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects
• Experience within ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works
• Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation and HSE&E legislation
• Ability to discuss engineering issues with people across levels and disciplines
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures
