Operations Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support the deployment, operation, and ongoing development of next‑generation satellite connectivity. You will work closely with Operations, Development and Systems Engineering to provide advanced terminal support, troubleshoot complex issues, and help improve system performance. You will contribute to firmware/software release planning and deliver hands‑on training to operations teams and partners. This position offers a hands‑on, technically challenging environment within a rapidly evolving satellite industry, with a strong emphasis on cross‑functional collaboration and impact. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable user terminals across diverse applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 3 operational support for user terminal services, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
• Plan and test new firmware and software releases for user terminal technologies
• Deliver hands‑on training on new features and terminal equipment to Operations teams and distribution partners
• Collaborate with Development and Systems Engineering teams to identify issues and improve user terminal performance
• Investigate and reproduce reported technical issues with equipment vendors
• Create and maintain technical documentation covering standards, procedures and processes
• Support installation, configuration and deployment of user terminals
• Provide on‑site technical support to distribution partners when required

Key requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience in satellite communications and RF technologies
• Experience with IP networks (routing and switching)
• Linux knowledge and Python programming
• Systematic troubleshooting and problem‑solving approach
• Experience using AI tools to support technical work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and testing standards for land, maritime, and aviation applications
• Experience using RF testing and measurement equipment
• Degree in a relevant engineering/technical discipline (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
