Deputy Manager

Overview

In this Deputy Manager role, you will oversee specialist support services in New Milton and the Southampton area, driving person-centred outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will lead across multiple services, ensuring safe, well-led care that meets KPIs and regulatory standards. You’ll collaborate with families, health professionals, and agencies to maintain high care quality and safety. The position offers meaningful impact through staff development, safeguarding, and continuous improvement, within a supportive, values-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple services and ensure regulatory and organisational standards are met
• Lead and develop staff across the service teams (Care Managers, Seniors, Support Workers)
• Ensure KPI targets and quality assurance processes are consistently met
• Manage staff rotas, resource use, and budget discipline
• Support safeguarding, notifiable events reporting to CQC, and governance meetings
• Attend shifts as required and provide role modelling and out-of-hours on-call support
• Promote the organisation’s holistic, person-centred care values across services
• Maintain strong relationships with people we support, families, professionals, and stakeholders

Key requirements

• QCF Level 4 or 5/RMA/Health & Social Care or prepared to undertake
• Demonstrable experience supporting individuals with mental health needs
• Leadership/management experience in a similar environment or as Senior Support Worker
• Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of the care sector and regulatory framework
• Experience with Learning Disabilities
• Proven IT skills (Word and Excel)
• Valid UK Driving Licence
