Apply for the Site Management Specialist
Location: London
Job Description:

We’re partnering with a leading global quantitative investment firm to hire a Site Management Specialist into their London office. This team has the overall responsibility for managing Infrastructure space, power, physical security and structured cabling behind a growing global footprint of data centre’s, colocation sites and offices. Expansion includes new large-scale data centre builds across the globe.

The role:

You’ll act as a technical project manager. You’ll get into the detail of data centre and office fit-outs and drive programmes through to delivery. Day to day responsibilities could include:

  • Planning white space: racks, overhead cabling pathways, power distribution and cooling strategy
  • Supporting the MEP side of new office builds, from desk-level power and connectivity to UPS rooms, generator space and critical room cooling
  • Writing Scopes of Work and RFPs, and directing vendors and contractors
  • Managing capacity, inventory and alerting, then using the data to recommend improvements
  • Building tools and workflows that turn requirements from compute, storage and network teams into work for the on-site DC Ops team
  • Candidates will need to be open travelling to support projects on the ground

Background:

  • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline. A Master’s is preferred, but a strong Bachelor’s is welcome.
  • Between 3-8 years experience. This could be with an MEP engineering firm on mission-critical projects, in data centre operations, or within financial services infrastructure.
  • A good grasp of single and 3-phase power calculations, electrical diagrams, and systems such as UPS, switchgear, ATS, PDUs and HVAC.
  • A process-driven, detail-oriented approach and the ability to juggle large projects with many dependencies.
  • Full right to work in your location, with no sponsorship required, and the freedom to travel internationally.

Nice to have:

  • Python or other scripting experience
  • Exposure to networking, servers or structured cabling.

*Very few people have it all, and the team will teach you what you don’t yet know.*
