About Tekifi

Tekifi is an independent smart buildings and digital advisory firm based in Dublin and London. We work client side across smart building strategy, security, BMS and controls, audio visual, technical standards and specifications, design assurance, existing building optimisation and data and integration strategy. Our value is independent advice that holds up under scrutiny from designers, contractors and operators alike.

This role supports a long-term security engagement with a global client, delivering security works across their property portfolio.

The role in short

This is a security design and delivery role. You will work closely with the client’s security team to deliver small works security projects, taking each one from the initial security requirement through to a vendor-ready design and scope of works, in line with the client’s global security standards playbook.

You will run several projects in parallel, work remotely for most of the week and travel to site when a project needs it.

What you will be doing

Requirements and site assessment

  • Review security requirements with the client’s security team and confirm the brief
  • Confirm site constraints, existing systems and interfaces with other building systems
  • Survey existing installations and door conditions on site where needed

Security design

  • Design access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and intercom works to the client’s global standards
  • Produce security layouts, schematics and door details in AutoCAD or Revit
  • Specify door hardware, locking and egress arrangements that satisfy both security and life safety requirements

Tender and procurement

  • Prepare scopes of works, specifications and bills of quantities for vendor pricing
  • Review vendor quotations and technical submittals, and set out clear positions on where they fall short
  • Respond to vendor queries during the pricing period

Delivery and handover

  • Support installation, witness testing and handover on site where required
  • Track design changes, risks and actions across your projects and report progress to the client

What we are looking for

  • Five years or more in electronic security systems design, engineering or delivery
  • Experience preparing tender documentation and reviewing vendor submissions
  • Working knowledge of door hardware, locking and egress requirements
  • Level 7 qualification in electrical, electronic or building services engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • The ability to work remotely and manage several projects in parallel
  • A valid passport and full driving licence
  • Experience working to an enterprise security standard or design playbook
  • Enterprise access control or VMS certification, such as C-CURE, Lenel, Genetec or Milestone
  • Knowledge of IS EN 50131 and IS EN 62676
  • Awareness of how security systems sit on the building network, including network segregation and basic cyber hygiene

How you work

  • You read a standard properly and apply it consistently
  • You produce drawings and scopes a vendor can price without guessing
  • You manage your own workload and keep the client informed without being chased
  • You would rather flag a problem early than let it surface on site

What we offer

  • Independent advisory work, free from product or installation bias
  • Exposure to enterprise security standards across a global property portfolio
  • Remote working, with travel built around project needs
  • Competitive salary, negotiable and dependent on experience
  • Support for professional membership and ongoing training

The successful candidate will be subject to background screening.

  • Tekifi is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and we will make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process on request.
