We are seeking an experienced Steelwork Engineer / Sub-Agent to join a project team in Newcastle upon Tyne.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in structural steelwork, fabrication and site-based project delivery, with responsibility for overseeing quality, coordinating site activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications.
DesirableExperience on large-scale structural steelwork projects.Knowledge of ITPs, quality assurance documentation and non-conformance reporting.Relevant engineering qualifications or site-based certifications.
Monitor steelwork installation and fabrication activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.Assist with planning, sequencing and coordination of site activities, resources and materials.Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or risks.Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, engineers and fabricators.Review engineering drawings, fabrication details and technical documentation.Coordinate inspections, maintain quality records and manage snagging.Ensure compliance with site health and safety procedures.Report on progress, quality and programme performance.
Previous experience in structural steelwork, steel fabrication or steelwork installation.Experience as a Steelwork Engineer, Sub-Agent, Section Engineer or in a similar site-based role.Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.Experience in quality assurance, planning and progress monitoring.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction programmes.Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
