Looking for an ocean imports role offering flexible working and a choice of working hours? A freight forwarding business in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to manage shipments from origin through to final delivery.

The Package

• Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience
• Monday to Friday, with working hours of 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
• Flexible working
• 28 days’ holiday
• Full-time, permanent position

The Role

• Manage ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers
• Arrange collections and deliveries, monitoring shipment progress
• Prepare and check shipping documentation
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure accurate information is provided
• Prepare quotations, monitor shipment costs and complete invoicing
• Resolve delays and keep customers informed throughout
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers

What You’ll Need

• Ocean import experience within freight forwarding
• A good understanding of import procedures and shipping documentation
• Experience coordinating customs clearance and UK deliveries
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• An organised approach and the ability to manage multiple shipments
