Job Description:

Employment Lawyers | Associate to Legal Director

Employment Lawyers | Senior Associate to Legal Director

London, Oxford & Thames Valley | 4+ PQE | Leading Employment Practices

Lex Exec is working with a select group of highly regarded law firms seeking experienced Employment lawyers across London, Oxford and the wider Thames Valley.

These opportunities span specialist Employment practices and established full-service firms, offering different platforms for lawyers looking to develop their careers, take on more sophisticated work or progress towards senior leadership.

We would particularly welcome conversations with Employment Solicitors, Senior Associates, Managing Associates and Legal Directors with approximately 4–12 years’ post-qualification experience.

The Opportunities

Depending on your experience and career ambitions, opportunities may offer:

High-quality contentious and non-contentious Employment work.

Advising major employers, senior executives and sophisticated commercial clients.

Complex Employment Tribunal litigation, discrimination, whistleblowing and restrictive covenant matters.

Strategic HR advisory work, workplace investigations and senior-level employment issues.

Exposure to corporate transactions, restructurings and business reorganisations.

Clearer progression towards Senior Associate, Legal Director or Partnership.

Established teams with strong reputations and flexible working arrangements.

Your Background

We are particularly interested in speaking with lawyers who have developed their experience within recognised Employment teams, whether at specialist boutiques, national practices or international law firms.

A strong background in employer-side advisory and litigation work would be particularly relevant, although we are equally interested in hearing from lawyers with a balanced practice or specialist expertise.

You will ideally have:

At least 4+ years’ PQE in Employment Law

Strong technical ability across contentious and/or advisory Employment matters.

Experience managing client relationships and complex matters with increasing independence.

Commercial awareness and an interest in developing your practice.

An appetite for progression, broader responsibility or a different working environment.

A Confidential Conversation

Changing firms is a significant decision, particularly when you are established in your current team.

Our approach is to understand your experience, motivations and longer-term ambitions before discussing which opportunities, if any, might represent a genuine step forward.

There is no expectation that you are actively looking to move.

If you are an experienced Employment lawyer considering your next career move, or simply interested in understanding the market, we would welcome a confidential conversation.

Contact Colin Lynam, on colin@lex-exec.com to discuss the opportunities in confidence.
