Costa Unit Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Costa Unit Manager to lead our Costa Coffee operation at Dorset County Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate retail and hospitality professional to take ownership of a busy, customer-facing environment, driving commercial performance while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
As Costa Unit Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit, leading and developing your team, maintaining Costa brand standards, and ensuring every customer receives outstanding service in a welcoming and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team to deliver excellent customer service every day.
- Oversee the daily operation of the Costa unit, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Drive sales performance and identify opportunities to grow revenue and customer satisfaction.
- Manage stock control, ordering, and waste minimisation to maximise profitability.
- Ensure Costa brand standards, food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards are always maintained.
- Monitor financial performance, labour costs and key operational metrics.
- Act as the main point of contact for the unit, resolving issues professionally and effectively.
- Build a positive team culture focused on engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all colleagues are trained, supported and equipped to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
About You
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have previous management experience within a branded coffee, retail, hospitality or foodservice environment.
- Be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating memorable customer experiences.
- Have strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Be commercially aware, with experience managing sales, costs and operational performance.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
