Senior Engineering Manager- London – Remote First

Up to £180,000 | London — one day a week in the office

I’m working with a global technology business looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of 4–5 backend engineers and 1–2 frontend engineers in the UK. They have built an AI native fraud prevention platform.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a focused engineering team, combining people management with technical direction and delivery. You’ll work closely with product leadership to turn priorities into clear plans, while helping your engineers develop and deliver high-quality software.

The role

• Manage and develop the team through regular coaching, feedback and career planning.
• Work with product teams to plan and deliver new features and improvements.
• Guide technical decisions across backend and frontend development.
• Maintain strong standards for code quality, testing and reliability.
• Identify delivery blockers and help the team resolve them.
• Support recruitment and onboarding as required.

What we’re looking for

• Experience managing software engineering teams.
• A strong technical background, particularly in backend engineering.
• A track record of coaching engineers and supporting their progression.
• Experience taking software projects from planning through to release.Clear communication skills and a practical approach to technical and delivery decisions.
