What will you be doing
As a Multi-Trade Operative, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our 35,000 homes are places that people love to live in. Working across both occupied and empty properties, you’ll use your plumbing expertise alongside your wider multi-trade skills to diagnose and complete a broad range of specialist repairs and projects, including aids and adaptations.
Depending on your wider skills, your work could include:
- Plumbing (Primary Trade) – fitting bathroom suites, installing and repairing pipework, changing taps, repairing toilets, resolving leaks and carrying out drainage repairs
- Carpentry & joinery – fitting doors, kitchens, floorboards and fencing
- Plastering – patch repairs, skimming and plastering walls and ceilings
- Decorating – painting walls, ceilings and woodwork
You’ll take ownership of the work you’re completing, aiming to resolve repairs right first time wherever possible and delivering a high standard of workmanship for our tenants.
What are we looking for
You’ll be an experienced tradesperson with plumbing as your primary trade, complemented by practical skills in carpentry, plastering or other relevant trades. You’ll be confident diagnosing repairs and completing work to a high standard, while having a sound understanding of site safety and safe working practices. As you’ll be working in people’s homes, how you work is just as important as the repair itself. You’ll communicate clearly with our tenants, treat their homes with respect, work safely and tidily, and leave them confident that the job has been completed properly.
You’ll need
- Strong plumbing experience and competence, including the ability to diagnose faults, complete installations and undertake more extensive plumbing repairs independently
- Practical skills and experience in at least one additional trade, ideally carpentry or plastering
- A sound understanding of site safety and safe working practices
- Great communication and customer service skills
- A commitment to delivering quality workmanship and getting repairs right first time
- A full UK driving licence
If you hold a relevant trade qualification, please make sure this is highlighted on your CV when applying.
