Traffic Operator

Overview

Premier Work Support are currently recruiting for a permanent Traffic Operator for a client based in Standford Le Hope, Essex. Candidates must be able to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Planning and allocating transport jobs to drivers and vehicles
• Communicating job details, timings, and requirements clearly to drivers
• Monitoring live transport movements and responding to delays or issues
• Liaising with customers regarding collections, deliveries, and updates
• Coordinating with warehouse and operations teams where required
• Managing documentation such as PODs, EPODs, and job records
• Escalating incidents, breakdowns, or service issues appropriately
• Maintaining accurate records of daily transport activity

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a traffic, transport, or logistics role specifically with containers
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication skills with drivers and customers
• Knowledge of the Vehicle Booking System at the London Gateway
• Experience within logistics, transport, or warehousing is desirable, but not essential

Hours

Hours are Monday to Friday across various shift patterns including 4am–2pm and 8am–6pm.
