The Role
This position offers the chance to join the firm’s highly regarded Fund Finance practice. The team advises a blue-chip client base of leading UK and international banks, financial sponsors and fund managers on a wide range of financing products tailored to the funds sector. Typical matters include capital call subscription line facilities, NAV and hybrid lending, GP-led co-invest and support financings, fund leverage facilities and portfolio acquisition financing.
The successful candidate will work on both lender- and borrower-side mandates, gaining exposure to sophisticated capital structures and complex cross-border arrangements. This is a technically demanding but rewarding practice, extending across a diverse client base that includes private equity, real estate, credit and infrastructure funds. The London group also works seamlessly with colleagues across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, offering significant international collaboration and access to some of the most experienced fund finance practitioners globally.
There is dedicated support from both junior and senior team members, and associates are encouraged to take on genuine responsibility for drafting, negotiating and running transactions from an early stage. This role will particularly suit a technically capable, ambitious lawyer who is eager to develop within a high-performing, specialist team at the centre of the firm’s finance platform.
What They’re Looking For
- Lawyers with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience, though strong 2PQE candidates will be considered
- Demonstrable onshore fund finance experience is essential
- Solid understanding of fund-level financing structures including subscription line, NAV and hybrid facilities
- Experience advising lenders, sponsors or fund clients within an international or leading City practice
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with proven technical accuracy
- Ability to manage workload across multiple jurisdictions with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach
- High academic achievement and high calibre training contract experience
- A genuine interest in developing specialism within a top-ranked fund finance group
