We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Retail M&E division, based at our Head Office in Sheffield, with a requirement to visit client sites across the UK.
Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the management and delivery of multiple mechanical and electrical projects across the retail sector, ensuring programmes are delivered safely, commercially and to the required quality standards.
This is a key operational position requiring strong project leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple workstreams within fast-paced retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple retail M&E projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Take ownership of project programmes, budgets, resources, procurement and overall delivery performance.
- Manage and coordinate site teams, supervisors, specialist subcontractors and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain effective commercial control, including cost management, forecasting, variations, subcontractor expenditure and project profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, principal contractors and key project stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project risks, programme constraints and commercial challenges, implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with Elecomm’s Health & Safety, quality assurance and compliance procedures.
- Work collaboratively with internal Commercial, Estimating, Procurement and Compliance teams to support effective project delivery.
- Provide accurate project reporting, financial forecasts and regular progress updates to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational performance, delivery standards and client satisfaction.
About You
- Proven experience in a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager position within the mechanical and electrical building services sector .
- Previous experience delivering projects for major UK supermarkets and national retail clients within live retail environments, including store refurbishments, fit-outs, new stores or national rollout programmes, would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing project budgets, variations, forecasting and subcontractor accounts.
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple concurrent projects and associated delivery teams.
- A sound understanding of mechanical and electrical installations, technical drawings, specifications and project delivery requirements.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients and senior management.
- A proactive, commercially focused approach, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Relevant industry qualifications and a full UK driving licence.
