Senior Front-End Software Engineer | Hedge Fund | London
Tempest Vane Partners is working with a leading global investment firm to identify a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join their Investment Tooling UI team in London.
This is a great opportunity to work in a fast paced, technically sophisticated environment, building software used directly by portfolio managers, quant researchers and systematic investment teams.
You’ll join a small, highly skilled team with significant autonomy, working closely with backend engineers, designers and senior business stakeholders. The team’s remit spans the firm’s core front-office platform, systematic investment tooling, shared UI libraries and new AI initiatives.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years’ commercial front-end engineering experience (ideally in financial markets, but not industry experience is not required)
- Strong React, Redux, CSS and TypeScript expertise
- In depth knowledge of GraphQL
- A deep understanding of React performance and optimisation
- Experience with real-time streaming data – WebSockets, gRPC, SSE or similar
- Strong UI engineering skills and an appreciation for high-fidelity design
- Experience with Jest, Vitest, Playwright or similar
- Hands on experience with AI tooling and agentic development methodologies
