Operations Manager- PM Shift

Overview

As Operations Manager at our Mercia Park facility, you will lead the end-to-end warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods. You will work at the heart of our supply chain, partnering with cross-functional teams to maintain safety, cost control and service excellence. You will drive continuous improvement, optimize resources for seasonal demand, and develop warehouse leaders to meet operational targets. This role offers a chance to shape performance culture in a fast-paced, global logistics leader. Responsibilities

• Lead all warehouse operations: inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics
• Ensure Health & Safety and Group Audit compliance
• Control operational costs in line with budget and forecasts
• Review weekly reports, investigate variances, and drive corrective actions
• Plan resource levels for seasonal/volume fluctuations
• Support recruitment and retention of warehouse staff
• Mentor and develop team leaders with clear feedback
• Ensure adherence to WMS processes
• Handle employee relations according to policy
• Build relationships with retail partners and internal stakeholders
• Communicate business priorities to warehouse teams
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency
• Develop warehouse leaders to achieve targets
• Set and review KPIs; foster a high-performance culture
• Implement departmental policies for safe and efficient operations

Key requirements

• Proven senior management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
• Strong financial, analytical, and cost management skills
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities
• Deep understanding of warehouse processes and WMS systems
• Track record of developing high-performing teams
• Confident decision maker with strong attention to detail
• Strong IT skills, especially with spreadsheets, databases, and warehouse systems
