Associate, Customer Consulting Team (Japanese speaker)

Overview

In this role you support top Japanese corporate clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa from MUFG’s London front office. You will partner with Relationship Managers and global colleagues to ensure smooth account oversight, regulatory compliance, and timely client responses. The role blends client service with operational precision, offering growth through exposure to international banking and compliance-driven processes. You will contribute to client satisfaction and collaborate on improving procedures in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for client enquiries and uphold high service standards
• Administer and coordinate account management and transaction execution in line with internal policies
• Collaborate across international locations to resolve client matters and escalate when needed
• Build peer networks and foster inter-office cooperation within MUFG
• Maintain knowledge of MUFG systems, procedures, and products to support clients and internal teams
• Review and update team procedures to align with regulatory and policy requirements
• Collect and verify client documentation for processing by other divisions (KYC, Planning, Operations)
• Analyze data from diverse sources to generate market insights for clients and stakeholders
• Investigate incidents impacting clients and communicate outcomes to relevant parties
• Provide guidance to junior staff and mentor on best practices
• Support adherence to regulatory compliance and improve processes with Compliance & Legal teams
