Technology Operating (Op) Model Manager

Overview

As a Technology Operating Model Manager, you will partner with business and technology leaders to design operating models that unlock value and agility. You will co-create the Technology Operating Model vision, spanning product/platform structures, organisation, governance and processes. You will shape value cases, roadmaps and adoption of modern engineering capabilities to drive client outcomes. You will guide teams through transformation, stay aligned with industry trends and mentor junior members.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technology and business leaders to architect operating models that unlock value and agility
• Co-create vision and design for Technology Operating Model, including structure, governance and processes
• Shape value cases and implementation roadmaps aligned to business objectives
• Stay abreast of industry dynamics to identify new capabilities and operating model changes
• Advise on and implement modern engineering capabilities (Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Automation, Data & AI, Cloud)
• Conduct Agile/engineering maturity assessments to improve quality, speed and consistency
• Develop actionable roadmaps for large technology transformations using Lean and Agile principles
• Support creation of methods/processes by technology area to embed new ways of working
• Provide risk insights and mitigation strategies for operating model transformation
• Lead and coach client teams and junior members

Key requirements

• Experience designing modern technology operating models or engineering background in Data & AI, DevOps or Platform Engineering seeking advisory work
• Understanding of modern IT, Data, AI and Cloud operating model components
• Understanding of functional architecture and its impact on operating model design
• Curiosity about emerging technologies (Cloud Native, Data, AI, Robotics)
• Experience converting strategies into practical operating model designs across industries
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills and ability to influence diverse stakeholders
