Production Lead

Overview

In this Production Lead role, you will guide a small production team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality output. You’ll set up BOMs and manage workflows in the MRP system, while hands-on assembly and testing ensure robust, high-specification products. You will drive continuous improvement through lean methods and strong KPI monitoring, shaping scalable processes. This role sits at the heart of an innovative manufacturing operation, offering practical impact and leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Line manage a small production team of technicians, motivating and leading by example
• Set up BOMs and manage production workflows within the MRP system to support predictable output
• Complete high-quality mechanical and electrical assembly, including wiring looms and crimping
• Carry out inline and end-of-line testing for advanced electrical and electronic systems
• Maintain precise production records for traceability, performance monitoring, and compliance
• Set, monitor, and act on KPIs, applying lean methods to stabilise quality and optimise operations

Key requirements

• Strong production leadership skills
• Experience running end-of-line testing for electrical and electronic systems
• Competence with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma improvement tools for control and planning
• Working knowledge of MRP or similar production scheduling frameworks, with the ability to create clear work instructions
• Strong workplace health and safety awareness, alongside a disciplined approach to accurate records
