Overview

In this Design Manager role, you will steer technical design in a main contracting environment and guide the design process for D&B projects in Oxfordshire. You will work across new build and refurbishment schemes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, quality outcomes. The position focuses on delivering multi-sector projects (Education, Healthcare, Commercial) while maintaining strong client partnerships and a robust pipeline of work. This is an opportunity to shape design delivery within a respected contractor and contribute to efficient, high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical guidance within a main contracting environment
• Oversee design coordination for D&B projects
• Deliver both new build and refurbishment schemes
• Apply Building Regulations and planning legislation knowledge
• Support multi-sector project delivery (Education, Healthcare, Commercial)
• Commute to Oxford region as required

Key requirements

• Experience of managing and providing technical guidance in a Main Contracting environment
• Familiar with D&B projects
• New build and refurbishment experience
• Track record across Education, Healthcare and Commercial sectors (advantageous)
• ideally CIAT qualification
• Degree/HNC/ONC
• AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Power Projects, PowerPoint
• Design and engineering construction knowledge
• Building Regulations knowledge
• Good understanding of Planning legislation
• Able to commute to Oxford daily
