Elderly Care GP Specialist

Overview

In this GP lead role, you will oversee medical care across three nursing homes in Leinster, delivering person-centred care to residents. You will work closely with nursing and care teams to uphold HIQA standards and drive comprehensive assessments, planning and end-of-life care. You will contribute to service development, research and quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities

• Care for medical card holders under the GMS contract
• Private care for non-medical card holders
• Medical assessments aligned with HIQA standards
• Support care planning and medication reviews
• End-of-life care support
• Contribute to service development, research and quality improvement

Key requirements

• Specialist Registration in General Practice with the Irish Medical Council
• Eligible for a GMS list
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience, including at least 1 year in Ireland
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Genuine interest in geriatric care and improving outcomes for older people
• Full clean driver’s license
