Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Overview

In this Consultant CAMHS post, you will provide psychiatric oversight within the MDT to support young people across Gloucestershire. You will lead and shape care quality in Specialist CAMHS clinics, working across bases in Gloucester, Cheltenham and satellite locations. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based interventions in schools and outreach settings, with a strong focus on compassionate, candid care. This role offers permanent, full-time work and an opportunity to influence youth mental health at scale within a supportive trust culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric oversight to the MDT for young people
• Support the MDT, provide clinical leadership
• Review and improve quality of care
• Work across multiple CAMHS bases and localities including outreach
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams delivering interventions in schools and outreach
• Contribute to service development and governance (as per attached JD)

Key requirements

• CCT or within 6 months of CCT on the specialist register
• CAMHS specialism
• Full GMC Registration or eligibility to practice at appointment
• Current licence to practise
• Significant CAMHS experience
• Experience of Multidisciplinary team working
