Overview

As Associate Director, you will lead property reinsurance work for the Latin American and Caribbean region, guiding client strategies and growth. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions and build strong regional relationships. The role combines technical reinsurance expertise with leadership and regional market insight to drive outcomes for clients and Gallagher. Responsibilities

• Manage and expand relationships with key LATAM/Caribbean clients, delivering tailored property reinsurance solutions
• Lead client meetings, renewals, and presentations, including regional travel
• Identify growth opportunities in high-potential markets (e.g., Chile, Peru)
• Support regional growth strategies and pipeline management for the property portfolio
• Represent Gallagher at regional/international events to build market presence
• Provide mentorship and development support within the team
• Ensure regulatory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and governance across activities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver client-focused, innovative solutions

Key requirements

• Fluent in Spanish
• Significant experience in property reinsurance, insurance, or related professional services with LATAM/Caribbean focus
• Strong client relationship management and cross-cultural communication
• Proven ability to identify and develop regional business opportunities
• Commercially minded with negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; Portuguese a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results focus
• Experience leading projects, teams, or client accounts
• Professional qualifications relevant to the role (e.g., ACII or equivalent)
• Established market relationships and network within LATAM/Caribbean reinsurance
• Experience managing complex client portfolios and large-scale tender competitions
