Director – Landscape Planning

Overview

As Landscape Planning Director in London, you provide senior technical and strategic leadership to landscape planning projects within a growing practice. You will guide projects from inception through planning and consenting, advising on LVIA, landscape strategy, and development proposals. You’ll work with planning, ecology and design teams to deliver integrated solutions, strengthen client relationships, and help grow the London landscape planning capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead landscape planning commissions from inception through planning and consenting
• Provide expert advice on LVIA, landscape planning, and development proposals
• Support major development and infrastructure projects with complex consents
• Prepare and review technical reports and landscape planning evidence
• Collaborate with planning, environmental and design teams for integrated solutions
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders and partners
• Support business development, identify opportunities, and contribute to bids
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the landscape planning team
• Represent Stantec at industry events to strengthen profile

Key requirements

• Significant professional experience in landscape planning and environmental assessment
• Strong LVIA and landscape planning advisory experience
• Experience leading planning and consenting processes for major projects
• Solid understanding of the UK planning system and related policy/guidance
• Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong technical report writing and presentation skills
• Proven ability to develop trusted client and stakeholder relationships
• Experience leading projects, managing teams and mentoring junior colleagues
• Commercial mindset with experience in bids, proposals and business development
• A relevant degree and professional membership of a recognised landscape/environmental body (e.g., CIEEM, LI)
