Supply Chain & Engineering – Digital Manufacturing & Operations: Automation Manager

Overview

In this role you drive digital transformation of manufacturing and plant operations for clients, focusing on automation-enabled solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness. You will collaborate across technology and consulting teams to design, sell, and deliver value-driven projects from scoping to deployment. The role includes shaping future operating models, building trusted relationships, and supporting business cases and journey plans. You’ll work on greenfield and brownfield factory modernization, delivering tangible client outcomes in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Target and deliver value through digital transformation of factory/plant/infrastructure operations
• Shape, sell and deliver projects with value-led outcomes, including current state assessments and opportunity identification
• Design application technology solutions enabling future operating models and processes
• Leverage digital technologies to enable future-state capabilities and drive business outcomes
• Develop enduring relationships and provide coaching/career development across the practice
• Support the sales process from origination to closing, including solution shaping and client presentations

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing manufacturing solutions (processes and supporting tech) in Discrete or Process Manufacturing
• Strong problem-solving mindset with client-focused insights and collaboration
• Ability to assess strategy, vision, imperatives and capabilities to guide solutions
• Knowledge of selecting appropriate application, technology and infrastructure components
• Familiarity with factory/plant operational challenges and opportunities
• Awareness of digital technologies and their practical shop-floor applications
• Experience contributing to business case development with cost/effort estimation tools
• Knowledge of Robotics and Automation, MES/MOM, enterprise asset management and plant automation systems
