Senior Product Owner – Cloud & Engineering Platforms

Overview

In this role you own the Cloud platform backlog and multi-year roadmap, translating business needs into clear requirements and prioritised work. You will collaborate with engineering to deliver increments, link items to GSK strategy and OKRs, and measure outcomes over output. The role covers cloud, network, digital workplace and AI Hub domains, with responsibilities across platform strategy, reliability, and supplier management. You will accelerate discovery with AI tooling while maintaining governance on standards and reliability. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role within the Platform team.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritise the product backlog by value, risk and reliability using lean portfolio principles
• Align backlog items with GSK D&T strategy and domain OKRs and track outcomes with a defined metric
• Translate business needs into actionable requirements and user stories for engineering
• Collaborate daily with engineering to refine, plan and review work and accept increments
• Balance new capabilities with reliability, setting SLOs and considering error budgets with Reliability Engineering
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate discovery and documentation, with review of AI-assisted output
• Measure adoption and value delivery, iterating the roadmap based on evidence
• Drive delivery using flow metrics (throughput, cycle time, WIP) and act on them
• Manage consumer demand and stakeholder expectations, declining non-value items with justification
• Coordinate supplier-delivered components against internal criteria and reliability standards
• Contribute the product view to the domain roadmap and portfolio view, and maintain boundaries with Platform Manager and others

Key requirements

• Degree in a technology, engineering or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Around 5 years of experience in product ownership or product management in a platform or infrastructure context
• Experience delivering Cloud Services as a Product Owner or in an Agile team
• Practical experience with lean or agile backlog management and value/risk prioritisation
• Experience using Jira or similar backlog tool
• Track record of translating business needs into actionable requirements
• Experience working to OKRs and measuring adoption or value delivered
• Experience steering with flow metrics and using delivery-predictability data
• Experience managing stakeholders and providing defensible reasons to decline requests
