Structures Engineer

Overview

Join Multimatic’s MTCE in Thetford as a Structures CAE Engineer, contributing to advanced design, simulation, and testing for automotive systems. You will develop FEA models, run simulations, and propose design improvements to support production-ready components and vehicles. You’ll collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing teams to translate concepts into viable solutions. This role offers hands-on impact in a fast-paced innovation hub and opportunities to adopt new tools and physics. You will work onsite and engage with OEM partners to drive performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Construct FEA models and run simulations to assess mechanical performance
• Recommend design improvements based on analysis results
• Perform engineering calculations and review requirements/specifications
• Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing partners to translate concepts into production-ready designs
• Interface with OEM customers and manufacturing partners to align on requirements
• Adopt new software tools and account for additional physics and material characteristics

Key requirements

• Proven engineering aptitude with ability to conceptualise and align designs with functional requirements
• Good knowledge of the finite element method and its application to mechanical systems
• Experience with commercial FEA tools (preferred)
• Proficiency with Hyperworks, ABAQUS, LS-DYNA, OptiStruct, and nCode is an asset
• Experience with multi-body kinematics and dynamics packages (e.g., ADAMS, MotionView) is an asset
• High interest in automotive engineering
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills

• Holder of current passport with ability to travel as required
