Senior RF Payload Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own the design and delivery of satellite RF payloads, spanning architecture, performance analysis and hardware integration. You will collaborate with hardware specialists and suppliers to turn requirements into working payloads, while developing tools for design, test and calibration. You’ll support environmental testing, commissioning and ensure technical delivery, schedules and budgets. The position offers exposure to in-orbit performance and full payload lifecycle ownership in a space-focused team.

Responsibilities

• define payload architectures and assess performance
• specify transmitters, receivers, antennas and signal processing
• collaborate with hardware specialists and external suppliers
• develop design, test and calibration tools
• support environmental testing and commissioning
• take ownership of technical delivery, schedules and budgets

Key requirements

• RF experience with systems engineering and requirements flow-down
• experience in link budgets, RF or digital design, signal processing, antenna design and payload verification
• familiarity with MATLAB or Python for modelling
• engineering, maths or physics degree
• space hardware manufacture and test experience would be useful
