D365 Functional Consultant – Finance & Operations
Location: Berkshire (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week onsite)
Duration: Initial 6 months with likely extension
The Opportunity
We are supporting a major transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant to play a key role in the delivery and optimisation of a D365 F&O environment.
Working closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical consultants, you will lead requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and user adoption activities across the Finance and Operations modules.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead workshops with business stakeholders to capture and document requirements.
- Translate business requirements into effective D365 Finance & Operations solutions.
- Configure and optimise D365 F&O modules, ensuring alignment with business processes.
- Produce functional specifications and support technical teams during development.
- Drive fit-gap analysis and recommend best-practice D365 approaches.
- Support data migration, integration, and testing activities.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect resolution.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to business users.
- Work closely with Programme Managers, Solution Architects, Developers, and third-party partners.
- Support go-live planning, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
- Proven experience as a D365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant.
- Strong expertise across D365 Finance modules, including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Fixed Assets
- Cash & Bank Management
- Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Experience within Operations modules including Procurement, Inventory, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing.
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering end-to-end D365 implementations and transformation programmes.
- Ability to perform fit-gap analysis and provide functional solution design.
- Experience supporting testing, training, and change adoption activities.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
